The InnovuLens platform is a layered set of tools that allow you to easily follow your data from top-level dashboards down to simple, raw data.
The fundamental exploration tool of Lens is called Insight. This is the professional mechanic’s toolbox—full of equipment to build complex dashboards, but lightweight enough for casual users to view data. Insights are the most low-level, interactive method to explore your data and prepare queries (or questions) to be answered in a repeatable way.
To begin exploring, access your organization’s data through an Insight Model. After you build your Insight, visualize the output with options such as bar charts, pie charts, scatter plots, maps, and more. You can easily toggle your data to appear as a visualization or data table. Finally, save your final output as an Insight Template.
Each Insight Template can be shared with other users, exported locally as a CSV file (up to 500 rows), or exported to My Files (all rows). Innovu’s experts will also create and publish an Insight Template as an Innovu Global Template for all Innovu users to access.
You can group a set of Insight Templates together to build an Insight Dashboard. By Building Insight Dashboards, you can create and deliver easily readable and organized reports. Your Insight Template data is represented as a Widget on an Insight Dashboard. Widgets can be depicted as charts, visualizations, tables or text summaries.
Once a Widget is added to an Insight Dashboard, you can change its data visualization, edit its content, or explore its data by linking back to its source Insight Template. Your final Insight Dashboard can be easily shared with other system users, printed or exported as a PDF or PPT document.
Insight Templates and Insight Dashboards can be searched, organized, categorized, and shared by using Insight Organizer.
Now that you have a high-level understanding of Insight’s structure, let’s start pulling in more pieces and build a few real examples in the next sections.
