Example Dashboard

Following the initial step in Creating a New Dashboard, we've titled our dashboard Example Enrollment Overview.

Now, we are ready to add widgets. Let's add a widget using data results from an existing Insight Template. Our first widget will return a single value which is the value of the first row's first measure.

Adding a Text Block Widget

We will begin by adding a text block to add descriptive detail about our Dashboard.

Click Add Widget > Select Widget Type as Text Block.

Add a title in the Widget Title space. Dashboard Description is the title in our example.

Click the button to expand the text formatting options. Click the hide help button again to collapse these options .

After you finish writing your text, click the Save button .

If you do not want your Widget Title to appear in the Text Block the uncheck the Display Header Option .

Now you have your 1st Widget!

You will see your widget appear in the upper-left corner of the Dashboard. The double arrow in the bottom right corner of the widget allows you to resize the text block. The Sidebar is available to move widgets off the dashboard to re-order widgets within and between pages.

Adding an existing Insight Template Widget

Click Add Widget > Select Widget Type as Insight Template.

Add a title in the Widget Title space. # Members Enrolled is the title in our example.

In this example, our Source Model is Enrollment. This will filter your options below to existing Source Insights that were created using the Enrollment Insight Model.

From the Source Insight List, we chose the Insight Template entitled Number of Unique Members Enrolled.

Our Display Type is Visualization and the Visualization Type is Single.

After you Click the Save button, the widget will appear again in the top left corner of the dashboard. This widget may appear on top of the existing dashboard widget, so you will need to move the dashboard and use the double arrow to re-size.

Our dashboard now contains two widgets.

Adding a New Insight Widget

Before adding a new widget, be sure to save your Dashboard by clicking the Save button at the top of the Dashboard page. This is important because the following widget will re-directs you to the Insight Template Page.

Our widget is configured as follows:

  • The Source Model Enrollment.
  • The Display Type is Visualization.

If you attempt to the Widget without 1st clicking to the overall Dashboard, you will receive this message.

Once you save both the dashboard and the new Insight widget, the platform will re-direct you to the Insight Template page to Build the Insight Template.

Once you save your template, the visualization will appear on the Dashboard which you can move and expand.
